Academic-Practice Partnership for Doctor of Nursing Practice in a Large Medical Center

      This paper describes a unique academic–practice partnership model for doctor of nursing practice (DNP) initiative to prepare nurse leader in key roles within a large academic medical center. This partnership has been sustained for several years with 9 cohorts of doctoral students. It explores the DNP graduates’ and students’ narratives regarding the benefits to which doctoral education impacted their leadership roles, practice changes, professional growth, and initiation of community-based health projects.
