Unreasonable demands on the nurse executive's time mount daily. Extricating self from
teams and special projects can be difficult due to self- and/or supervisor-imposed
expectations. Refining delegation skills and adopting an essentialist approach can
provide the nurse executive with time to consider participating in those initiatives
that yield the highest organizational rewards.
