Three Faces of Leadership Transitions: One Organization, Two People
Effective transition of key nurse leaders is essential to uninterrupted organizational morale, spirit, and productivity while being uniquely personal for the leaders on both sides of the role transition. The purpose of this article is to help you to develop the vision, skills, and tools to prepare you for future leadership transitions as we share our story of Chief Nurse Executive (CNE) transition at Lakeland Regional Medical Center (LRMC).
LRMC is an 861-bed acute care hospital in Central Florida. It is the fifth largest hospital in the state with the second busiest emergency department. LRMC is a private, non-profit facility that has served Lakeland and surrounding Central Florida communities for more than 80 years. With a Level II Trauma Center equipped with state-of-the-art technology, life-saving equipment, and a dedicated chest pain management team, Lakeland Regional recognizes the importance of its role in contributing to the health and well-being of the community. LRMC offers technology and care not usually seen in a community the size of Lakeland.
